Sweat Fest

I know ... gross name, but that is one of the many things that occur during a session of Hot Yoga. I have now been taking hot yoga for a month and feel great!
Instead of rambling on forever about my experience, I have found information on the benefits of taking part in a Hot Yoga class.
- The class occurs in a 37 degree room that allows you to stretch like you have never stretched before. Have a hard time stretching those hamstrings? I promise you after three classes you will already notice a difference.
- Working in a hot room elevates your heart rate, leading you to work that much harder than you would in a normal yoga class.
- Supposedly all of that sweating that occurs during the workout allows your skin to detoxify, which is always good in my books!
- Last but not least, Hot Yoga helps your body to relax. I drive an hour and a half home from work everyday ... usually in the snow and the minute I step into that heat I feel the stress disappear right away!

Hellloooo 2011
I took a small break from blogging to enjoy the Christmas holidays! Lots of family, friends and food. I have decided for the New Year I am going to once again start writing about my fitness plans.
I am no longer going to be following my prior "Abs Diet" plan but instead stick to my own schedule. This is what I have decided so far:
1. Train for a May 10k run. I purchased a Nike+ app for my nano which will help me train 3 times a week. I will write more about Nike+ as I use the software over the first month.
2. Hot yoga 3 times a week to help stretch out my tired muscles. I found a great one in the GTA area which has a great atmosphere.
3. Once a week I will do strength training.
4. My diet will pretty much stay the same, but I will be eating larger lunches and smaller dinner followed by 200 calorie snacks in between. I also plan to upgrade my fruit intake which is lacking at the moment.
That is all for now!
